Most running apps are heavily metric-focused, which can be intimidating or boring for casual runners who struggle to maintain consistency without immediate rewards. Modern mobile gaming heavily contributes to sedentary lifestyles, keeping players isolated indoors with minimal physical activity. This dynamic results in superficial online interactions, where gaming communities rarely connect or build meaningful relationships in the real world. Furthermore, everyday local environments, street corners, and public neighborhoods are often perceived as mundane due to a lack of engaging, daily interactive experiences.
The Solution
We introduced a gamified progression system where miles run convert into 'Energy Points'. These points can be used to unlock virtual gear, conquer local leaderboards, and progress through a narrative running journey. By merging real-world running with strategic RPG elements, TURUN turns every journey into a tactical mission, encouraging exploration and social competition. The game's core mechanics are designed to be inclusive yet challenging, motivating casual runners with achievable milestones while offering depth for dedicated athletes. Our innovative approach revitalizes local environments, transforming familiar streets into dynamic, interactive battlegrounds and fostering genuine community connections through shared gameplay experiences.
