Finding short-term and flexible storage options in urban and industrial areas like Batam is highly inefficient. Small businesses, SMEs, and individuals frequently struggle with high upfront costs and rigid long-term contracts of traditional warehouses. On the other hand, many property owners have unused or idle spaces within their buildings that remain completely unmonetized due to the lack of an efficient marketplace to connect them with potential renters.
The Solution
To address this gap, the team engineered Warebox, a dedicated cross-platform mobile marketplace developed using Flutter and Dart. The platform introduces a sharing economy model to the logistics sector, enabling property owners to list their underutilized spaces with specific dimensions and pricing. Simultaneously, it provides renters with an on-demand, mobile-first interface to search, compare, and instantly book flexible micro-warehousing spaces based on their immediate location and storage needs.
Impact & Results
- Successfully secured 3rd Place (Juara 3) in the prestigious Wirausaha Merdeka (WMK) program, proving the commercial viability and strong business model of the platform.
